These terms apply to your use of thedataface.com (the “site”), which is operated by The DataFace, LLC, a California limited liability company (“The DataFace,” “we,” “us”). By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
Using the site
You may browse the site, share links to it and refer to its content for your own informational purposes. When using the site, you agree not to:
- use it in any way that breaks the law or infringes anyone’s rights;
- interfere with its security or operation, or try to access parts of it that aren’t meant to be public;
- use automated tools to copy or scrape it in a way that burdens the site or republishes its content; or
- misrepresent your identity or affiliation when contacting us.
Our content
The site and its content, including text, graphics, data visualizations, designs, code and the site’s look and feel, belong to The DataFace or to the organizations we’ve worked with, and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, republish or create derivative works from the site’s content without our written permission, except for brief quotes with attribution or as the law allows.
Client work and trademarks
Projects and case studies on the site show work we created for our clients, and are shared with their permission. That work and any client names, logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Showing them doesn’t imply that any client endorses the site or grants you any rights to their materials.
Information you send us
When you contact us, book a call or subscribe to our newsletter, our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information. Please don’t send confidential or sensitive information through the site’s forms. If you share ideas or feedback with us, we’re free to use them without any obligation to you, unless we’ve agreed otherwise in writing.
Working with us
Nothing on the site is an offer to provide services. Any engagement with The DataFace is governed by a separate written agreement, such as a statement of work or master services agreement. If that agreement conflicts with these terms, the agreement controls.
Third-party services and links
The site uses and links to services run by other companies, such as Calendly for scheduling and Vimeo for video. We don’t control those services, and your use of them is governed by their own terms and policies.
Disclaimers
The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available.” We work to keep the site accurate and available, but we don’t guarantee that it will be error-free, uninterrupted or current, and, to the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, The DataFace won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of the site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to $100.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to the site will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
